Apparently The Post I Set To Publish Today Was Set To 2080; Wordpress Tip o’ The Day…

Hey, looks like you're new here! I blog about money. Saving, investing, insuring, getting, and using it! See my "about me" page for more info! To keep up to date, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or get the blog in your email! Thanks for stopping by!

I really love the “future post” ability of Wordpress, I just need to watch the “fat-fingering” of the keyboard I guess! I don’t generally like posting things mid-day, but I thought this was worthy enough to mention how to do it, but not take up a lot of time. Charting out your week of posts ahead of time will save you time and sanity; you won’t need to rush to come up with good ideas, nor have to cram time in mid-week to find them…

To set a future post in Wordpress, all you need to change is the “Post Timestamp” in your “Write” tab like this:
timestamp.JPG

Set that to the time you want it to post and hit the “Publish” button. It’ll close out the window and post automatically at that time. Honestly, I didn’t know how to do this originally, and for the first 2 months of my blog, I was getting up at odd hours of the night just to click the “Publish” button.

This saves me some time and sleep for sure, and I’d highly recommend using it!

Lol. I accidentally checked out a book for 1 year and 3 weeks the other day. But I caught that right away and fixed it. Phew! Library would not have been happy with me.

Glad you caught it, because I might not make it to 95. ;)

I’ll put it in my Blackberry to have myself crygenically defrosted on this date 2080 so that I can read it … it had better be up to your usual astoundingly high standard, because I’ll be old, cold, tired, and grumpy ;)

@Mrs Micah - no kidding; eh, things happen though I reckon. It was a good time for a tip anyway I figured… :)

@AJC - If I’m still alive and making money, I’ll be sure to post for you then! :)

I recently discovered this feature and I love it. It enables me to write a few articles in advance, then publish them spaced over a few days. It also enables me to set publishing time to 4am - I’m on the West Coast and I like to have it published when the day starts on the East Coast.
Also wanted to say that I love your blog. Your writing style is straightforward and honest and I respect that. Lots of good info over here.

Sometimes I use this feature when I’m on writing mode.. when you get a flow of ideas, you just have to write it down, save it as drafts. Or when it’s completed, just do the future publish mode :)
