    what happens when you reach $1,000,000.00?

    remember aesop’s fable about the miser who buried his gold?

    dont get me wrong - this is a noble quest - but what happens after?

    anyway - one step at a time right? good luck!!

    @Ken - thanks!

    @Jemieson B Taylor - thanks for stopping by! When I reach my short term goal of 1MIL, I’ll likely bump it up to 2MIL by another date. Putting a timeframe around a goal makes it a “SMART goal” and keys on the “T” for timely. If you don’t have a timeframe, how do you know when you’re there? :)

    agreed - how will you know when you are there? when is enough enough?

    i guess this is why poets will never have a lot of money and misers will ne’er be poets

    at the end of the day its really about “value” isnt it? how will you “value” your life? how will you “spend” your most valuable commodity - time? every breath you “spend” is worth more than all the money in the world isnt it?

    its not that i dont admire what you are out to do - its just that i dont understand - pls dont take offense - pls help me to understand - what does this quest mean to you?

    Hey Jamieson - no offense taken at all. :) Funny story, I actually have written a LOT of poetry in my day. I grew up pretty poor (click this link to see my story) and never really got any good financial advice.

    When is enough enough? When I’ve got a strong enough financial education that I can support my growing family and not worry about living paycheck to paycheck. It’s possible, and I would prefer it; heck, by 2020, $1,000,000 will likely not be enough.

    All in all it is about financial education. I could barely balance my checkbook before starting in on this path…

    Hope that helps!

    Hello,

    How could I join the Money Life Network? I blog exclusively on hedge funds and I have posted over 500 articles on this niche subject now. How could I apply?
